Underbase ? A white ink layer printed first on dark garments so colors appear bright. Recommended for dark shirts. Turn off for light garments or when printing on white.
Separation Type ? Spot Color: separates solid vector colors (best for logos and simple designs). Simulated Process: converts full-color raster images into halftone dot patterns for photorealistic prints. Auto-detected from file type.
Screen Ruling ? Lines Per Inch (LPI) — how fine the halftone dots are. 45–55 LPI for coarse mesh (plastisol on fleece). 65 LPI is standard for most jobs. 80 LPI for fine detail on smooth garments.

Max colors ? Set a target screen count. Colors closest in appearance get merged automatically. Leave blank to separate all colors.
Engine merges similar colors by visual distance (Delta-E)
Color count warning ? Warn before downloading if the design has more colors than this. Useful for catching complex files before burning screens.

Default: warn if more than 6 colors detected
Output DPI ? Resolution of the output separations. 300 DPI is standard for PDF review. Higher DPI (1200+) is for RIP/film output — requires significant RAM and processing time.
300 DPI recommended for this machine

File format ? PDF — best for reviewing seps on screen, sending to clients, or printing to film via a standard printer.

1-bit TIFF — required by RIP software (AccuRIP, FilmMaker) and direct-to-film imagers. Higher DPI, halftone dot patterns burned in. Only available for raster/simulated process jobs.

Vector spot color jobs always output PDF. Upload a PNG/JPG for TIFF output.
